U2 kicks off their 30th anniversary of The Joshua Tree tour in Croke Park this weekend, and they're playing the whole album for thier fans. Bono reckons that the new enemy are Donald Trump and Theresa May as direct replacements for Reagan and Thatcher, the popular monsters at the time of the first outing, and that is why the tour by these warriors is vitally "relevant" to the free world

Although maybe another theory could be that modern staff costs (butlers, personal chefs etc.) at the 20 room family pile in Eze near Monte Carlo 'mongst "the haves and have yachts" are beginning to get a bit hairy??

Eze does it for Bono and pals - Independent.ie

They're only in it for the money.

It's pretty lame. Touring the same album again. But U2 ran out of ideas a long time ago.

They already played that a few weeks ago in London. I know people who went and said it was great, but they went to the same gigs the first time they toured the Joshua Tree so I guess it's a nostalgia thing...

A superb album in its day and Achtung Baby was very underated! But given their lust for money there is a stink of money grabbing with this tour!

Saw the show in Cork in 1987- wasn't madly into them then and even less so now. Clunky, 1980's stadium bombast. They have been very quiet of late so I suppose a few weeks' work was deemed appropriate. They haven't done anything original in about 20 years so I suppose repeating a 1980's tour doesn't seem too out of place.

Never seem them live, Bono's a knobend, but herself got two free tickets from work so why not.

Not a fan really but it's a night out.

Are you that clueless?

They actually kicked off this tour many months ago.

I saw them in Cleveland a few weeks ago.

By far the best gig I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of great artists and other U2 shows.

I've seen some crappy U2 shows and some good ones but this tour is phenomenal, hearing Exit live is life changing.

Unbelievable.

Get tickets if you can.

Highly recommended. U2 at their very best. All is forgiven for the last few album.

Heard them described many times as the best band ever out of Ireland . I usually respond by saying not even the best band to come out of Dublin . Overrated in my opinion but it's all subjective I suppose .

U2's music sucks ass. They're shrewd businessman though, no question.

Was at the Zoo TV and Popmart shows back in the 1990's. They put on a very good show.

If you like them? Go and enjoy yourself. If you don't? Don't bother. This instinctive need some people have to go out of their way to slag them off got tiresome years ago.

didn't mind bono until I saw him at the epp meeting in Dublin with merkel and the other fine gael scum. he basically congratulated Irish people for bailing out banks, taking it up the arse and saving europe.
