Best known for getting rid of rule 42 while president of the GAA, he’s been relatively quiet as an MEP and his appeal goes beyond Fine Gael.

Does he have a chance to be selected by FG?
Would he have a chance in a full fight v. Miriam O’Callaghan, Nessa Childers, Gerry Adams, [insert speculated name]
Can he do the dignity thing as prez?
What’s his view of utility of art.26 abstract challenge?
This could be the last presidential election where a campaign will matter, if the franchise is extended to non-resident Irish and those in the 6 counties, in future we can expect President Liam Neeson, Samantha Power, Katie Taylor etc

He's so quiet that even the voters have never heard of him.
Kelly would be a good candidate in that he’s not a typical Thatcherite fg man.

He would get the fg vote and the gaa vote as well.

Looking like Michael D will have no option but to not run.

Couldn't believe it when he rowed back on his commitment to do one term.

Isn't Conor McGregor running?

Thankfully, we kept the age bar.

Another no mark celebrity candidate. Although the GAA now have approaching zero political power, will be interesting to see if they can mobilise this million members they claim to get their man in.

You're proposing this person for political office.
Does he need us to give him more gravy?

Why would the GAA do that, I am a part of that 1 million you talk about and would stay well away from it.

He’s a sad anti-GAA bigot, who pollutes every thread touching on the GAA and spouts lies about the organisiation. (He also doesn’t appreciate that the GAA avoids Party politics, referenda, presidential elections, etc (obviously it has the cultural dimension which would perceived as political by DUP or west Brits)

The President hasn't announced his intentions, so how has he rowed back?

El presidente wanted a coronation so he could be just like herself across the water. (He's even been practicing his fake accent.)

Senator Craughwell said that he will run against him in the interests of democracy. Labour snouters don't like democracy. Higgins would never have been president without RTE rigging the election. With Labour having been reduced to being a micro-party, FF and FG will be angling to get one of their own up the Aras. Miriam O'Callaghan is being floated by RTE/Dindo/FF. Kelly seems to be an FG option but Mairead McGuinness would be a better candidate.

WTF have the GAA got to do with Presidential election? Why apart from your utter bitter bias would you think the GAA would campaign in such an election? You as a former inter county player should know the GAA are non political and would never get involved, have you forgotten that from your tme as a member of the association? So what turned you from a former star player to bitter man?
