USI President Arrested at Dáil Education Vote

Not that I have much time for the USI or youth wing politics (I don't...) but little story here tonight about Loguey Bear getting himself arrested for protesting at the Dáil tonight.

Big load of meh, but may prove interesting if he ever gets elected to the Dáil.
He's just busting his radical cherry. An arrest record is part of the required CV.

Just positioning himself for some public exposure. Hopefully he spends the night in the cells at the joy. Should put some manners on him.
Well ************************ on wheels I agree with you.....it knida goes against your view of protesting but hypocritical posts are nice too.

Took the words out of my mouth. It'll be high 5's back with the socialist posse. He sure stamped that street cred activist ticket, all part of the path to suitdom.

It won't. They love bragging of their harsh reality experiences. He'll be insufferable after this.

As I said in another thread he's Fianna Fail to the bone, strong family tradition and a very competent young man, the futures bright for Fianna Fail

If he's the Daniel O'Donnell clone who was on the six one live the other night, have to say he's a most articulate speaker.

Someone here the other night said he was an FFer. Dunno if that was true or just a provocative slur.
More than likely he is. Is he on a grant as well like 91% of all Donegal students. Amazing how likes of him gets such prominence.

He's probably not on a grant like all the other grant applicants who have been failed by the Ruarai Quinn's/SUSI fiasco.

But, to be fair, his FF affiliations weren't the issue.
I mean, wouldn't it suit my agenda to rubbish him because he has, most posters seem to confirm, connections to them. I thought he spoke well, presented the case for the thing he was on TV for, the processing, or lack of them, of student grants, and had a good mastery of the facts pertaining to his case.
I think that is the ultimate cowardice of a lot of the sneery bollocks who post here. If the individual isn't of their tribe, nothing good can be said of them. Their character, motives and facts have to be rubbished rather than confront the uncomfortable truths they present. Sometimes we, with our own beliefs, aren't always right and our opponents always wrong, but in this world to admit your opponent makes a fair point is to be resisted at all times and their character assassinated at all times.
On the contrary, his FF affiliations are very much the issue, because it informs us where he is coming from to be associated with the most disasterous, self-interested, devious political party (and what a line up to choose from) this island has had the misfortune to have had inflicted on it.

What young person, having seen what Fianna Fail have done to this country, would have anything to do with it now, if not for self interest ?

Must be son of a farmer/fisherman so, or self employed with an accountant's cert.

Apparently Ciaran Cannon admitted tonight that SUSI actually has more staff than all local authorities processing grants did.
but they are in one place, not 60 as was the case, and subject to local politicians etc. In Some counties you almost had to have a FF cumann membership card to get a grant.

According to The Phoenix last week, he left FF a few years back, is currently unattached (ie, The FF Undead).

Picked a bad news day for this stunt, all tomorrow's papers full of the non-abortion story.
He is probably another Bagman. Sort of half left FF.

Let me see if I have this straight:

-The people who used to do the job are now being paid not to do it.

-In order to save money, there are more replacement staff than there were staff doing the original work.

-A service that once worked a little bit now hardly works at all.

Can that be right?
