Video posted on youtube of the protester driving the Angle cement truck up to the Dail gates.

Based on this evidence you can hardly all it a "ramming".

Looks more like a peaceful protest to me.

Just proved how biased the RTE coverage of this event was.

YouTube - Actual Footage of AngloTruck Ramming Dail Eireann !

Apologies, I have just notice that this video has already been posted else where on p.ie

That noise didn't sound like a ramming of any gate. More like brake lines being deliberately blown. I'd be surprised if the gate was touched - at most the truck gave them a little bump when the brake lines went.

If he wanted to break down the gate he would have. Big truck like that.

Twenty Gardai by the looks of things. Total overkill. And not very complimentary language. I guess they didn't think it would be filmed.

But there's always someone watching, as this video proves.

Edit: williewatch strikes again! Cheers for sharing!

Does this mean Fionnan Sheahan can be sued for slander by the truck driver?

Thanks but I cannot claim the credit for this. Somebody else filmed this and posted it to youtube. I just came across it on twitter.

Power to the People

"Who will govern the governors? There is only one force in the nation that can be depended upon to keep the government pure and the governors honest, and that is the people themselves. They alone, if well informed, are capable of preventing the corruption of power, and of restoring the nation to its rightful course if it should go astray. They alone are the safest depository of the ultimate powers of government"

Fair enough - but you posted it up and I saw it here first. So cheers for that. I have it saved to my hard disk in case it disappears ;)

Not unless I missed the Garda jumping out of the way.
Brian Hayes lied, looked smug and towed out a load of bs when interviewed, was hardly inspiring from a man who supposedly views himself as a leader in waiting.

Never ever forget that FG were spawned and nurtured from the same pool of dynastic slime as FF. The only difference is that they have been in opposition for the most part in the charade that is Irish democracy:eek:

The worst thing I don't understand is what did the eejits stand to gain from faux outrage, when clearly the protest was against the current government and would be cheered on by most the public...

Let Cowen and the likes comment on it not FG fools out spinning lies for them, baffles the mind

Unless I'm mistaken, Fergus O'Dowd essentially said a Garda had almost been hit and that if the cement truck had come later, others might have been killed.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn't see the truck pulling up or is just blind.

So this just shows that a general election will do no good, we need a new government void of all the slime.
