John Downing, Journalist Irish Independent John Downing: Why shouldn't governments be let take sides in referendums? - Analysis, Opinion - Independent.ie
Gemma Hussy, Former FG Minister Gemma Hussey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Marie Louise O’Donnell, Senator nominated by An Taoiseach Marie-Louise O'Donnell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It’s all over bar the shouting, and tonight I guess Vinny will be shouting loud enough about the ‘another fine mess’ the Government have made about the Referendum itself, the day they picked, underestimating the disquiet with a large unexpected ‘no’ vote. This should have been a slam dunk - the Referendum which would establish that the Government were fully in tune with the people and bring in a resounding ‘yes’ vote with a massive turnout. It didn’t turn out like that that all, and is now seen as another example where the Government - and the whole political establishment - have again shot themselves in their collective feet.

If you best like the #VINB show when Vinny is at his worst, then this could be a good one …

Also included in tonight‘s show is a discussion on Enda Kenny. “Enda Kenny. The Unlikely Taoiseach”– a political biography of Enda Kenny has just recently been published, authored by one of the panellists, John Downing.
If I were a betting man I think the whole show tonight will be on Vinny’s favourite topic, and the Children’s referendum will take a back seat …

2 Fine Gaelers and a journo. Not the best panel.

I know Marie Louise is technically an 'Independent', but we all know she likes Enda.

Fall out :)

The referendum was passed.

If it was 50.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 % it would have been good enough.

NEXT.

That's why FG doesn't get to form a Government that often. They fail to get the message ...
That , and their ability to screw up even the easy stuff.... Dead cert of a referendum turned ino a close run poll along with Supreme court criticism of a minister And a waste of 1,1 million ....the mind boggles at such incompetence ....

We should have used the evoting machines for this referendum.

Surely it could have given an accurate result with one a YES and a NO Box.

The €51m would have been money well spent :)

Thats why they were never allowed to form a government on their own. Labour always were able to keep them in check,

Since Gilmore, Rabbitte and Quinn came to the top, they are more right wing than Fine Gael themselves.

The fact that the Supreme court found there was illegal spending of taxpayers money to give information to the public that was not fair, impartial, or equal should have serious repercussions for those responsible.

We expect the government to protect the constitution, not abuse it using taxpayers money.

Its terrible. €1m or so spent on a website and literature which most people probably didn`t read.

What an afront to the constitution.

Yet the constitution says nothing about debt levels of €200 billion +, NAMA, suicide due to debt pressures, mental health facilities not being suitable for habitation, annual deficits of €18 billion and handing over €62 billion to bust banks.

... what are you saying? That the Children's referendum was unnecessary and a waste?

So you believe the constitution is optional for FG ?

Member of the O'Duffy wing by any chance ?
