With the renewed calls for James Reilly to resign is it time for him to say bye-bye. Dr James Reilly says there is no justification for another motion of no confidence in him and he also said he would not change the way he selected primary care centres, an issue which continues to dog him.

Fianna Fáil says the Minister has still not provided an adequate explanation as to why he bumped a number of locations, including two in his Dublin North constituency - Swords and Balbriggan - were added to the list of 35 at the last minute.

A similar motion against Dr Reilly was defeated in September and former junior health minister Roisin Shortall resigned over the controversy. Under Dáil rules, another motion cannot be tabled until March.

To add to his worries, the family of Savita Halappanavar say the Minister for Health, James Reilly, has until Thursday to agree to a public inquiry into her death or else they will take their case to the European Court of Human Rights.

So, where does Reilly go from here? A good show is lined up for tonight. Reilly may well survive in the Dáil, but can he survive Vinny’s onslaught? Tune in to tv3 at 23:00 to find out …

I have giving the minister plenty stick myself in the last year. Yet if he goes will his replacement do better, not likely, so he may as well stay.

Is that the same Sean Fleming who confidently assured Vinnie that Fianna Fail would win at least 43 seats in the 2011 election?

The same Sean Fleming who was Fianna Fail's head bookkeeper when Bertie Bung was merrily signing blank cheques for CJH, but who saw nothing untoward?

The same Sean Fleming who had a menopausal hissy fit on the PAC when the HSE told him to "sit down sonny" a few weeks ago?

A preening, self-important Fianna Fail nonentity with small man syndrome and the intellectual depth of a cabbage.

Sorry Vinnie, but it's looking very much like The Frontline tonight for this viewer.

Reilly may survive Vinnie's ire but whether he will survive Labour's moves is another question. There is a a surprising avoidance of RTE's Frontline/Labour fiasco though. Vinnie seems to have become a quasi-Labourite of late.

The problem is that Reilly might fire Enda Kenny. Vinnie does need a strong Taoiseach though. It is hard for him to be outraged against a non-entity like Enda Kenny.

Hmm interesting, Liam Twomey is on for FG. He will be the next Minister for Health after Reilly - and he knows it.

But the worrying thought is that Reilly or Hogan might be Taoiseach by then. There are just too many variables here - will Reilly go? Will Labour get rid of Gilmore? Will Labour chicken out before the budget? Will Fianna Fail cross the floor to form an emergency government with Fine Gael if Labour walks? Pondering these questions is probably more interesting than watching Vinnie's show these days.

But if he is that much of a non-entity, then how come there hasn't been a heave? Are the party completely out of touch with the people, or are the people they are in touch with dillusional?

Should be interesting to see if what happened to Cowen's running mate will be used as a deflection defence. It might have been better to have someone from Sinn Fein rather than Fianna Fail. After all, Sinn Fein seem to have less baggage on the issue.

I think Reilly will be used as a mud guard for the cuts in Health and the upcoming abortion fiasco. Then he'll be thrown under the bus.

Another thread concerning when will Dicey Reilly get the sack.

Sorry folks, but this is the Irish media, and the Irish political structure that we are talking about, not the English media and political structure.

Dicey will stay on to make an absolute b@11s of matters.

IIRC, It is the same Sean Fleming who predicted that FF would win at least 50 seats in the GE. God, I'm sorry i did not record that episode of vinnie for posterity!
