Tonight with Sam Smyth

Regina Doherty, FG TD Meath East https://twitter.com/ReginaDo
Aengus Ó Snodaigh, SF TD Dublin South-Central https://twitter.com/aosnodaigh
Mary Minihan, Journalist The Irish Times https://twitter.com/minihanmary

Well another night sees Sam in the hot seat. Tonight the panel looks at the 2-year anniversary of this FG-Lab Government - what has it achieved and what more needs to be done. So, I think they’ll also be commenting a bit on Michael Noonan’s interview on RTE this evening.

The second topic for tonight is on the Meath By-Election.

Now that the Revenue Commissioners are launching their publicity campaign about the Property Tax, tonight is a good opportunity to look at its implications.

At today’s press announcement they said homeowners will receive personalised assessment letters outlining details of the property tax starting next week which will take up to four weeks for the letters to be delivered to 1.6 million houses. From Sunday, an interactive guide for house values will go . A local property tax return will be included with the letter and homeowners will be able to choose a number of methods to pay the tax.

If homeowners do not respond to the Revenue estimate, they will be pursued for the monies.
Revenue Chairperson Josephine Feehily said that those who have not paid the Household Charge will still be liable for it. If people have not paid the charge by 1 July it gets converted into an amount of local property tax of €200.

Expect to see a bit of a ding-dong tonight between Doherty and Ó Snodaigh which should make for interesting viewing …

Of all the people to be on tonight when I am like a demon because of .....well, because, O'Snodaigh has to be the one and I cannot stand him. He's a terrible speaker. His fingerprints are all over the place because of printing ink, and he is ugly as hell. Why could't it have been Pearse. Sigh.........

Will Smyth ask O'Snotty whether he has now paid for all the toner cartridges he "used"?

I'd pay to watch MaryLou up against Regina, with Vincent not the nice Mr Smyth.

Maybe he's had a few pints after reading how we all went to sleep watching his last show. Maybe he'll go asleep on this one. Bloody O'Snodaigh, the man has'nt got a titter of wit about him. How he ever got elected and stayed elected is a miracle. Holy God must love, him. Cillian is so right. They obviously don't have a fearless Press Officer. Anyone like him should be hidden away from all cameras. He looks like a bad tempered, humourless fecker, and lads, yis don't need that. Pearse and Mary Lou, and Caomhin as well of course. But especially Pearse oh okay and Mary Lou.
