… on later tonight too, at 23:15

Tom Barry, FG TD Cork East Tom Barry (politician) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
James Doorley, Asst Director NYCI James Doorley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paul Murphy, Soc MEP https://twitter.com/paulmurphymep

Over 25% of Irish households saw a close family member emigrate in the past two years, according to a survey, Time To Go?[/], by the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI). Around 50% of those aged between 18 and 24 have considered emigrating: for those aged between 25 and 34, the figure is 40%.

It suggests that emigration is not just a matter for the country's youth, as over 25% of those aged between 35 and 54 have also considered moving abroad.

In the past four years, over 300,000 people have emigrated from Ireland; 40% were aged between 15 and 24.
The NYCI wants the Government to develop and implement a strategy for Irish emigrants - the appointment of a dedicated minister with responsibility for emigration policy and for the Irish abroad.

The survey also shows that most young Irish people intended to return home to Ireland after five years abroad.
The NYCI wanted the Government to engage with young Irish people abroad who may be having difficulties adapting to their new homes and with loneliness and other issues.

This is against a backdrop of an unemployment rate of around 30% for the under 25s.

Looking forward to a good, instructive show tonight with all the issues aired, and, hopefully, some pathways shown to get us out of this dreadful situation …

Interesting intersection with respect to job seeking, and EU Empire Day.

Vote yes for jobs...but the jobs seem to be in Australia or Canada most of the time.

I didn't even know there was a Europe Day ... I just 'happened' to come across it. From wiki:

Coincidence
9 May coincides with the eve of the German invasion of The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg and France and with Victory Day, the end of World War II in the former Soviet Union (celebrated on 8 May in western Europe).

It is offset precisely half a year with German Schicksalstag.

Get out the party hats.

Last night the Organ Grinder, tonight the monkey. Vincent is really taking the p1ss having a carpetbagger like him on the show.

Still, at least Paul Murphy can give unemployed youngsters some useful pointers about how to slither into a cushy, well-paid job without the hassle of having to do an interview.

Makes a change to have a program about Emigration rather than Immigration. Might even be worth watching.

I'd emigrate just avoid this repetitive garbage. Is there a single person in the whole country who has had an original thought in the last 5 years? Anybody at all?

Are you quite sure? The debate could get quite philosophical. Will you not miss your Beavis & Butthead fix tonight?
Never 100% sure when it comes to the #vinb show. However Beavis and Butthead aren't on 3e tonight so it is either #vinb or reading about temporal Set Theory. Mercurial isn't a panelist tonight?

Do you think he would be as good at that as Joe Costello, Ruairi Spin's advisor, or plump bunny's pal who got on the board of the OSI ?

Should be 9th May
Perhaps it was an intentional error and Norm was subtly suggesting that Vinnie is living in the past.
