Humdinger night is on the cards. Yes, I can feel it in my waters: Vinny is going to lose it again with Jerry Buttimer on the panel. And maybe in return Jerry will lose it too? But will he answer any of the questions put to him or will he go off on a wild rant?

Good night’s viewing - well, verbal fisticuffs anyway - should be in store, well worth viewing, imo …

when nobody voted against vote of no confidence, they cant vote against budget, bad mistake by Sinn Fein in putting vote of no confidence

Do you know if what he announced today is the new graduate placement scheme for nurses that was flagged in his press release about Budget 2013, or is it something entirely separate?

I was thinking about this earlier right, there is no doubt that a motion like that unites the government and the coalition partners.

Sinn Fein know this and probably don't want to see any defections now, they would rather they vote this through so later in the Governments lifetime (i.e closer to an election when the prospect of losing a seat becomes more real) if any TD jumps ship SF can say well now, you didnt vote against this o that. Very interesting times ahead politically but as I say numerous times on this site, it is very sad to see the country where it is. I really hope we get through this but even after all the adjustments our deficit is till 8.2% this year. We'll see how far it falls next year.

isn't the target supposed to be 7.5% in 2013?
