Donald Trump intends to sign border deal to avoid another government shutdown - CNNPolitics

Has Ann Coulrer been told? It all depends on her.

Last I heard, Trump was going to divert money away from helping disaster-stricken Puerto Ricans and Californians to build a wall. Why those? They vote Democrat, you see - funds for Texas and Florida will not be touched.

The legal battles will be interesting.
Good. We get another reminder that for all their rhetoric, Republicans don't care much for adhering to the Constitution and the role it provides to Congress, not the President, in allocating spending.

Pentagon authorizes $1B in counter-drug money for Trump's border wall

....
The Pentagon has approved the transfer of up to $1 billion to build 57 miles of President Trump's southern border wall, according to a Defense Department statement released Monday night.

Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan notified Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen of the transfer in a letter, released alongside the statement, which said the money will go to block “up to 11 drug-smuggling corridors along the border.”

Shanahan “authorized the commander of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers to begin planning and executing up to $1 billion in support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Customs and Border Patrol,” according to the statement.

“These funds will be used to support DHS's request to build 57 miles of 18-foot-high pedestrian fencing, constructing and improving roads, and installing lighting within the Yuma and El Paso Sectors of the border in support of the February 15 national emergency declaration on the southern border of the United States.”

The statement adds that the Pentagon has such authority to transfer the money “to construct roads and fences and to install lighting to block drug-smuggling corridors across international boundaries of the United States in support of counter-narcotic activities of Federal law enforcement agencies.”

Is it built yet? Are the Americans safe from those evil Mexicans?

Oh wait, without the Mexicans, many millionaires and billionaires wouldn't have cheap labour to clean their pools and mind their children.

Is that why they supported Hillary?

Funny you should mention people and who they support, more of them supported Hilary than Trump. Its just the way that US democracy is so fvcked up, Trump still won the election despite a large number not supporting him.

WILD!!!

That system is in place for years and was never an issue until the wrong person won.

Irrelevant. The fact still remains, the majority of the voting people supported Clinton.

Twas you who mentioned support from the people. I'm merely pointing out the facts surrounding that support as regards preferential support of the majority.

I'm not a Clinton supporter by the way, just sayin.

Lol, US democracy was 'fked up' whenever the Dems won, so why didn't they change things?

Trump won, no amount of playing numbers games can change that for you. Stop fighting it, Trump won 😄

It was never an issue until POTUS Trump took office so why should it now be one all of a sudden. It's their country and their form of democracy.

Was it ever games so well or turned out a "wrong" answer so much? It was a landslide for Hillary by all accounts - 3m votes or something like that.

But I reiterate, that's an irrelevancy what you say about whether it all of a sudden is being highlighted with the Trumpster. Whataboutery bolloxology designed to deflect.

LOL, I'm fighting nothing. It matters not a jot to me who won. I live here. I'm just pointing it out. Why does it exorcise you and Rommel so?

Trump has awarded the first wall contracts (for construction in San Teresa, New Mexico) to a Texan company using diverted money resulting from the National Emergency Declaration.
Pentagon awards first border wall contracts for diverted funds
[/QUOTE]
Just more BS contrived demagogy by him. The Santa Teresa, New Mexico, section project has been going for quite awhile, and mostly deals with upgrades of existing structures with him now adding some useless extensions for his showbotring.
By picking the source of funding through his improper means (his emergency declaration move with misappropriation of funds) instead of going through proper funding channels, once again he's contriving an unnecessary fight for an unnecessary project, namely his 'Great Wall of Trump'.

Putting aside his mastery of contrived demagogy including the lack of Mexican pesos he promised and all that, as I've mentioned before, all you also need to know it's a scam is Google Maps. Take a look at the 3,145 kilometres (1,954 mi) Rio Grande border segment. Take a close look and scan along the US-Mexico border lines from El Paso to the Gulf of Mexico. Put aside the wetlands, deserts and all that....it might as well be building a wall along this:
slide0008_image006.gif
The actual boundary even frequently crosses over to the 'wrong' side of the river along its length due to the ever shifting nature of that volatile river, another telltale regarding his BS.

Trump supporters provide yet another example of how they are the easiest people on earth to fool and scam out of their cash.
Surely a good attorney can get this scammer off, just claim he was enterprising like the Trumps
If people are dumb enough to hand over wads of cash to you, what else is one meant to do only take it and spend?
FFS
Whether it is loans or bonds or inheritance or tax or charity donations, just take it and spend it Trump style

A theme an effective 419 email scammer would note.
The astonishing thing is that many of those who got scammed here would do exactly the same thing tomorrow if a new fund was set up called "The Real Build the Wall fund" run by the same scammer.

That is not an exaggeration, it is mind boggling how easily large swathes of America are continually conned out of their cash, from Madoff, to evangelists to pyramid schemes, to wellness programmes to stock market scams, to Bitcoin, to Alex Jones and a million more.

And even more mindboggling that many of the same people would cue up in Costco and push people out of the way to get a 40 cent discount on a bag of Doritos or haggle over the price of a bag of screws at a hardware store
Bizarrely, these very same people perceive themselves to be canny and astute and thrifty.
