Correct me if im wrong but what part of been peaceful is throwing objects at the car.
The cops did feck all wrong except bait some of the tracksuit wearing scumbags out of the way.
Well lookit Mr. Law & Order all of a sudden, what happened to "persuading" 'em they really didn't want to come in to your boss' niteclub after all?petunia

The cops didn't beat any farmers out of the way when the boggers locked 10,000 factory workers out.
Have to agree with you with that about the farmers getting a pass when blockading places, on that I like the French CRS approach.

The establishment still do not get the depth of anger and determination of working class people in this country to resist the imposition of water charges and those responsible for imposing this austerity tax will not get a free ride to go around to photo ops.
What exactly is an "austerity tax"? And what's all this about the "working class"? Do the Trots only look after one section of the populace and ignore the middle classes?

10,000 factory workers were locked out by a farmers blockade.

It cost the meat factories €30 million.

That was illegal but AGS dis nothing. The peope here who whinge about the actions of water charge protesters were silent about the farmers.

Joan is a big girl and is used to horse play.

She has pushed people too far. Its time for her to defend the interests of ordinary peopl.
The glaring difference is that the farmers would know the meat factory workers and were respectful towards them. Their issue is with price and that issue has been negotiated to a solution. We don't even know yet what the water charges will be but that won't stop scumbags jumping on the protest bandwagon and ill-informed keyboard warriors from cheering them gleefully on as they look at someone they perceive as 'better-off' being intimidated and threatened.

If we give in to this mob rule, what will be next? A pedestrian tax for walking in the street? It's time to put this mob out of business and out of the privileged position where they are holding the citizens hostage.

Most people will accept the scheme as described in the Irish Times today - that's the reality. Joan has played a blinder over water charges ...
I'm in favour of water charges but it's starting to look impossible in their current form.

The opposition to water charges is organised and growing in stature. The government has been constantly several weeks behind the public mood on this issue and the optics and the operation of Irish water have undermined the real infrastructure and conservation challenges.

Irish water as a brand is toxic. The damage they have done could deprive us of a sustainable water infrastructure for a generation.

It's a huge missed opportunity.

You didn't have anything to say about the farmers who intimidated 10,000 meat factory workers.

Murphy TD is an idiot. Indeed he implicated himself in abducting Joan Burton by saying 'we will let her go.'' Disgraceful and undemocratic.

Having lied to the people, treated them like fools and serfs the political class are in high dudgeon because the misery they inflicted on the country results in a protest like this. If this gets worse they have only themselves to blame. Democracy suffers when politicians betray the trust given them. That is when people turn to other action.
