It seems Waterford continues to "top the poll" when it comes to "handing on the seat"...in the Deasy, Coffey, Kenneally, Kyne, Ryan, Cummins, etc. etc. mould. No wonder, as Sister Mercedes remarked, the gaff is in such a chasis!

FF havent learned a thing, what a pack of scummers.
Gary Wyse managed to get elected when a pile of other FFers didn't get elected. Waterford city East is an odd place. The Greens could have picked up an easy seat if they had had a real non-student politics level candidate but the opportunity was wasted.

This was the 2009 result (from Wikipedia):
Davy Daniels Independent
Jack Walsh Labour Party
Jim D'Arcy Fine Gael
Tom Cunningham Fine Gael
Mary Roche Independent
Gary Wyse Fianna Fáil

It has the capability to radicalise things at the 2014 elections though.

So this student grant nobody gets on the council with all the cash rewards without even having being mandated in an election. As bad as that Phil Prendergast trout getting elected.

FF havent learned a thing, what a pack of scummers.
Would you give the lad a break, He's only 19 and he lost his father a few months ago. You may not like who people vote for in Waterford but that's democracy, like it or not. When you vote in a local election the reality is that any replacement is the right of the party that wins a seat. Do like they did recently in Waterford, build a bridge and get over it!

I believe the bridge is actually in Kilkenny

Well Deasey isn't Waterford City. I don't think that Kyne is either. Keneally did not get elected (didn't contest, I think). Coffey is not Waterford City. Cummins is an FGer. I think Ryan is Labour. In fact FF got obliterated in the last LE in Waterford City and only had 1 seat (Wyse's) compared to 4 from the 2004 LE.

Strasbourg = Strassburg. "North" Waterford = Kilkenny
Take it up with John Paul Phelan, that good KK pol with a Waterford name who once claimed that Waterford was expanding because it needed "Lebensraumt".
