According to the Mail on Sunday Cllr Pat Leahy, a member of Waterford CC since 1991 and former campaign manager for Martin Cullen, was found dead in a lagoon at a Glanbia factory where he worked as a part-time caretaker. The Mail states that Cllr Leahy along with other Waterford Cllrs had been questioned by the Gardai about planning corruption and rezoning decisions on the Council.

What was so wrong with it? I am not hitting on you but if it is a 'fukking disgrace' could you state why?

it's a disgrace because the mail tried to link both incidents in a disgusting manner.
Anyone reading that article would have come to the conclusion that both are related. They never stated it explicitly but that is the conclusion any reader would have drawn and the further inescapable implication as to the cause of death.

EVERY single member of waterford co council was questioned, as a matter of course, by the gardai carrying out the investigation.

this fact was twisted and used in this article in a most disgraceful fashion.

i'm a fg'er and after reading this story, and knowing what happened in waterford co council, i personally wouldnt use this rag as bedding in the dog's house.

How connolly can sleep at night is beyond me.

Why not? The whole Irish phenomenon of "Let's not speak ill of the dead" is nothing but sheer hypocrisy.

When a thief dies, he's a dead thief.

Unfortunately, libel laws don't protect the dead, they become easy targets for lazy sleaze merchants, the best we can do is not buy newspapers. I have no idea who the man is but if you don't have the guts to say something about someone when they're alive you should have enough self respect to keep your mouth shut when they can't defend themselves.
