FG's future leader has said that tomorrow's Budget is "not going to be the toughest" compared to previous years.

Leo Varadkar made the point that while tomorrow budget comes after 5 previous tough budgets and there has been a cumulative effect that has been tough, we are 85% of the way there now.

"We're very close, on top of the mountain - but of course, things get harder at the top, it gets steeper and the air gets thinner, but we're almost there."

So, in fairness, shouldn't we breathe slower and garner our energy to get to that place ... on top of the mountain ... ;)

Almost where?

That is the question!

The domestic economy may be just 15% away from total meltdown!

FG would dilute water if they could get away with it. But it's grand they were able to get the helicopter to the top along with their well to do buddies, The Welfare got carts paid for by the taxpayers to get there and the taxpayers will be last up along with " the cherished" children of the state.

I noticed Stephen Collins, in a piece that would have as well been cut and pasted for Minister Varadkar's website, using the 85% there cliche. Just heard it used on RTE news right now by one of their correspondents.
Is this going to be the new version of "we have turned the corner"?
Well, for myself, I DON'T ACCEPT THAT!

What exactly do you mean by that, pray tell? Are you seriously predicting resignations, defying the whip, and voting against the bill when it comes time to vote on it?
Are you standing over that? I'd appreciate a response. I'm asking politely.

Tánaiste Eamon Gimlore was reported this morning as also saying that "85% of the adjustment we have to do will be behind us" once the measures in Budget 2013 are implemented.

The Coalition was "the only one to see it through" ... despite tensions in the parties on where the axe should fall.

End of austerity will be within near following this budget, says Gilmore | Irish Examiner

Isn't it a nice change to see them singing from the same hymn sheet for once?

And yet, what brave creatures these lemmings are, as they choose to cross such a vast body of water in search of a new habitat.

Nah, Eamo has been telling the loyal that the Coalition was "the only one to see it through ... Not Fine Gael supported by a ragbag of right-wing independents; not Fianna Fáil, now tripping over themselves to disown policies that they signed up to; not Sinn Féin and their fantasy economics".

Goats, Hillbillies, Yetis and Heidi.

That's what lives near the top of mountains.

The air is thin, and so is the analogy.
What if you are in a mountain range and you only see if from the peak of the foothill you thought was a mountain?

WELL LEO...
Analogise that mo Fo
