Wexford is screwed with Tammeny Hall Politics, the champagne socialists have destroyed this beautiful County, the true gombeen men are all snug as bugs down here.

sean connick could be in trouble in New Ross - has failed to deliver on any of the big promises he made during the boom years - no new swimming pool, no second bridge, no de-centralisation etc etc . Lot of grumbling in the town - unheard of 12 months ago

Is that senator Bertie appointed likely to run. Lisa MacDonald. Seems like a ruthless type

How will Malcolm Byrne do!? Shame that Lab. can't find a decent candidate in the north of the county.

there hasnt been much discussion about wexford

FG have two and id say both will hold Kehoe is based between wexford and enniscourty and prob is pushed towards the wexford side to appeal to voters there if FG were to run a third it would prob (going on LEs) be Nolan the female enniscourty candidate or denis kennedy of new ross and then leaving d'arcy in the north of the county

Lab will be picking their 2nd man now on LEs it'd be George lawlor but would be fishing from the same pool as howlin the only other option is bobby ireton in gorey which isnt great (going on the LEs) who will it be?

FF connick should hold 2 ff shud be tough though

who will take the last?

He can’t because one cannot explain the unexplainable. If an election were to be held in Wexford soon it would probably return 1 Lab, Howlin with a huge vote unless they find a good candidate in north Wexford but none the less I can only see one seat for Labour. Both D’Arcy and Paul Kehoe will romp home. John Brown will easily be elected Sean Connick and Liam Twomey will battle it out for the last seat, unfortunately I can see Connick holding on, Fianna Fáil will drop votes but still (just about) hold on to enough to get two seats. They looked after their own very well back in the day. So as much as I hate to say it Wexford 2 FG 2 FF 1 Lab. I hope I’m wrong.

George Lawlor excellent councillor, hard worker, intelligent and well liked. If he was living in the north of the county he would be a cert to run but he is almost a next door neighbour of Brendan Howlin (as the crow flies).

I thought Pat Cody was being lined up - decent LE, right geography (Enniscorthy).

ElectionsIreland.org: Pat Cody

Think Brown will hold but will it be Senior or Junior?

Robbie Ireton is confident he will be running. Not exactly a fresh young face..
Gorey Echo: Mayor tipped for Dil seat
SPECULATION IS growing in North Wexford that the current Mayor of Gorey, Cllr. Robbie Ireton, will be nominated as the Labour Party’s running mate to long-sitting Wexford town T.D., Brendan Howlin, at the next General Election.

Speaking at last Tuesday’s monthly meeting of Gorey Town Council, Mayor Ireton, in reply to a question posed by Cllr. Lorcan Allen, stated: “I feel very confident. That is all I am saying on the matter.” Speaking on a television programme last week, Deputy Howlin stated that: “Wexford will have two sitting Labour T.D.s after the next election!”

Report in local paper that Jim Moore might try for Twomey's place on ticket. (Fine Gael)
