What the lie of the land in Wexford, whos running for who? Will there be any shocks? Can Sinn Fein field a candidate?
He cant because one cannot explain the unexplainable. If an election were to be held in Wexford soon it would probably return 1 Lab, Howlin with a huge vote unless they find a good candidate in north Wexford but none the less I can only see one seat for Labour. Both DArcy and Paul Kehoe will romp home. John Brown will easily be elected Sean Connick and Liam Twomey will battle it out for the last seat, unfortunately I can see Connick holding on, Fianna Fáil will drop votes but still (just about) hold on to enough to get two seats. They looked after their own very well back in the day. So as much as I hate to say it Wexford 2 FG 2 FF 1 Lab. I hope Im wrong.Would you like to explain please?
I thought Pat Cody was being lined up - decent LE, right geography (Enniscorthy).Lab will be picking their 2nd man now on LEs it'd be George lawlor but would be fishing from the same pool as howlin the only other option is bobby ireton in gorey which isnt great (going on the LEs) who will it be?
SPECULATION IS growing in North Wexford that the current Mayor of Gorey, Cllr. Robbie Ireton, will be nominated as the Labour Partys running mate to long-sitting Wexford town T.D., Brendan Howlin, at the next General Election.
Speaking at last Tuesdays monthly meeting of Gorey Town Council, Mayor Ireton, in reply to a question posed by Cllr. Lorcan Allen, stated: I feel very confident. That is all I am saying on the matter. Speaking on a television programme last week, Deputy Howlin stated that: Wexford will have two sitting Labour T.D.s after the next election!
