With front page headlines like GUILTY -These are the FF'ers who backed the Government that ruined us, the People group of newspapers in the South East have reflected the views of the population in no uncertain terms:

Wexford People Digital Edition

Using cell-bars superimposed over photos of local TDs and a senator, they leave no doubt about the identities of those they refer to.

Interesting given that the People Group are part of Independent Newspapers.

Metinks we are getting near to generating a sympathy vote for FF if this sort of thing continues!

Excellent.

As for its ownership - most of the O'Reilly stuff on here is hysterical conspiracy freakery.

As someone who grew up in Wexford in the 30s 40s and 50s Ican well remember the stranglehold that Fianna Fail had on the model County--everything that moved was nailed down by Fianna Fail--rent collectors ,rate collecters, jobs in the County Council,Membership of Pension Committees where unfortunates seeking old age pensions had to present themselves for examination and disclose all their private affairs to FF lackeys., Peace Commissioners (known colloquilly in the Dept .of Justice as the Fianna Fail degree)who were able to keep the Party informed of all that was happening---not too different to what you would encounterin Soviet Russia----let us hope that now that they have destroyed the country the good people of Wexford will send them to the Irish equivalent of Siberia.

The editor might lose some advertising revenue in the future, brave decision though.
It's popular to Kick FF so I'd say the newpapar will be getting more bang for their buck.

Finally the media have turned but they have been just as guilty for the mess we are in. They cheered the boom, made a fortune from property advertising and distorted and surpressed any contributions by people who questioned the gospel of FF.
That said, FF need to be erased from the political scene and need to be made an example of. Hopefully that will ensure that our new government will think twice before engaging in the same tactics.

Not just Wexford, unfortunately, but yes. Wexford have a proud tradition of resistance.

Hopefully, this will be a beacon for others to follow.

That's the problem in many ways. Control at local level is the basis of power and power enables the holders appoint local controllers.

The truth behind the success of FF and what the incoming government must tackle and where necessary, dismantle.

+ The new Govt. must remove every FF latchico on State Boards and from all positions where their malign influence has brought us to our current sorry state.

It is that way nationwide. For example, the chair of the Cork Chamber of Commerce is a FF lackey, his father heads the harbour commissioners.

Still, there are a lot of die-hards who mix up patriotism with the Fear of anything, right and left, and will vote FF unless they go through a personal trauma, financial or otherwise because of FF.
The way our Tanáiste blamed the "poor" results on the Greens is its best demonstration. She knows that the die-hard need to think they vote FF in self-defence and that the dirty tricks are from the "udder side."
These die-hard are convinced they are the reasonable ones.

After a trial, if found guilty of economic treason, they should be strung up on gallows in the middle of the town square.

Shame it has taken until now for newspapers to start in on FF. The writing's on the wall for the result of the GE so of course the papers now jump on the bandwagon. Where was the analyis when it was needed 5 years ago?
