What exactly did Olli Rehn say to Irish MEP's that needed to be kept so confidential?

I know Joe Higgins of The Socialist Party walked out when Rehn said everything discussed was to be confidential. But what was so sensitive it required public representatives from all, or almost all, the parties (if I'm not mistaken) to agree to such confidentiality.

Don't they have an responsibility and obligation to tell the people who elected them, the Irish people, exactly what was said? We didn't elect Olli Rehn, we did elect them. Maybe Joe Higgins should have stayed and listened and spoke his mind and then let it leak out - just a thought.

@vanla sighs - I'm with you - would really like to know what is actually going on.

The conspiracy theory part of me is incredibly suspicious of what is in the December budget. I don't buy the "the budget is really important so that the international markets can see that we're serious about creating abject poverty amongst the masses and ensuring that Ireland never ever ever gets too big for its boots again" message.

Has nobody any hint?
