What is a citizenry to do when it outgrows its country?

Despite their best efforts, our government is failing to impose the paternalistic short of government that they have become used to. Cowen seems to think that no one will notice the IMF are coming until he officially announces it. One man with a webcam can broadcast today’s march but RTE cant. Politicians call politics.ie names because some of the posters are patently better informed than them on economic matters. The government genuinely seem to think they can keep us in the dark despite constant online news streaming.

The high level of education amongst the Irish people is often cited as an achievement of this government yet they can’t seem to understand that the citizens are clever enough not to accept everything they say at face value. So when a citizenry outgrows its country, what is it to do?

You take it and shape it.

BUT (there's always one of them!) it doesn't happen via a keyboard though
that does have a part to play.

It's a long hard slog to take and shape your and your childrens' future.

Nothing worthwhile ever came easily and even should it come after a fight
is fraught with unintended consequences.

We are in much the same place that people were in 100 years ago - depressing but not unexpected when people continue to lazily vote for
f***faces because they can't/won't distinguish between the grand mother's
son or daughter who massages them once in five years and the party of f**** that will crack the whip.

Up to other posters ...
