The Taoiseach has gone a long way to meeting the expectations of those who expected an apology from the State for the abuse suffered by the victims of he Magdalene Homes.

It is now only reasonable that the Pope would make an apology as most of the Institutions were run by Catholic Religious Orders.

The Pope has in the past sen fit to apologise for the sexual abuse of Children by Religious Institution members.

How long will we have to wait for an apology from the Pope?

The Pope's previous apology is a bit hollow given that the Religious Institutions have yet to pay the bulk of their compensation contribution they agreed to pay to the State which is close to €500 billion at a time the State desperately needs money.

If the Pope was really sorry he would write a cheque to settle the compensation contribution due to the State.

Talk is cheap!

Did the Vatican profit form profit made by the Magdalene Homes?

The Orders that ran the Magdalene Homes are clearly under the Pope's control!

The Pope seems to concern himself with their activities.

Cameron is out on the Indian subcontinent today, possibly apologising for the Amritsar Massacre.

Want him to apologise for Magdalen when he gets back?

How about Arsene Wenger, will he do?

Bono?

Dana?

For the same reason he apologised for the sexual abuse of Children in Ireland by Catholic Clergy. It is a question of vicarious liability and moral decency. He can have no moral authority without an apology and restitution!

BS, the laundries were an Irish State issue.

The orders provided a service, but the State availed of it.

None of the Pope's fault.

So if a subcontractor to Nike had a history of using slave labour, nobody would want a comment from the CEO?

More like a sub to a sub to a sub, all in another country.

indeed, youd still have the intrepid Panorama reporter doorstepping the CEO asking him to explain
No, the intrepid journo would be dogging the doorstep of the local CEO.

Remember, the local Bishop is the actual boss, not the Pope.

When will the family members that allowed them to shoved in there apologise to them for doing nothing to help?
