is it just me but SF seem to have largely left the political stage here in the south recently,or at least from the medai, i've not heard them on radio, seen them on TV, or read about them in the IT or online.....?

is this happening as they are intentionally keeping stum in areas where they have been proven to be lacking in the recent past, ie economic policy, etc or is it just that now that NI is largely normalized that they are just of no interest to the media here?

Outside of this Site they don't seem to have a media presence in the 26Cos.

Not surprised really - since Lisbon was rejected they have almost disappeared from public notice.

now in fairness your hardly an unbiased opinion, seriously have you not noticed the lack of SF in the media of late outside of NI matters, its hard to find something about them in the media at present, the best they seem to manage is a byline or comment about them/ from them at the bottom end of a news piece about something FG / FF, Lab or greens have said or done....

The Provos are thoroughly diseased and must now shrivel up and die.

That Morgan guy was on the 9 News spouting about the Government not being able to handle the economy. Now that may be correct but given Sein Fein's economic strategy, or lack thereof, at the last general election, it was rather amusing.

Pot and kettle came to mind!

You're right of course.

Political party decides to keep quiet for a while, cunning new plan!

Libertas seemed to take the credit from SF over the no vote to Lisbon. Apart from Mary Lou there was no media gain for SF. They seem to be stuck in terms of election strategy but a lot will depend on candidate selection. There is a need for a leader from the free state

Well of course he was right and the sight and sound of politicans pleading with voters to be 'patriotic' when purchasing goods after years of rip off Ireland (which FF and the rest did f*ck all about) is in itself quite amusing.
Ah for the halcyon days of the delegations from other countries coming over to see how the Celtic Tigger did its' stuff.
Getting back to the basket case economy didn't take too long. Nearly as long as it takes you to get a parking space in Newry these days.

There is a clear block on coverage of Sinn Féin in the media. The only party in the Dáil that opposed Lisbon and yet you will rarely see SF reps on Q+A or in any of the mainstream media - print, radio or tv.
Payback time for Lisbon.
Meanwhile if Eamonn Gilmore or some Green party councillor wriggles a big toe.......

Restricting Adams' airtime has kept them afloat in the opinion polls; gives the electorate a chance to forget how hopelessly out of touch he is with 26C issues.
