GAA thenselves responsible for any decision on who plays in Croke Park. Nothing to do with politicians.Bertie gave big money to GAA at one stage to develop Croke Park and keep it from allowing Soccer and Rugby played there . He wanted to build his own Bertie Bowl
As for stadium in West Dublin, made sense as could have been built without x years of disruption at Lansdowne road, add in infrastructure then it would have been a 65,000 seater stadium, instead stuck with Aviva where part of stadium doesn't even have a proper stand.
Cost of Abbotstown Stadium was €350 million, cost of Aviva was €411 plus selling the land of the Aviva for apartments would have generated €50 million.
