Sorry if this has been repeated but he has been most unusually quiet.

Maybe he is trying to sample the lie of the land and once he does he will spin a yarn - no doubt with the word "context" in a sentence.

It seems when these lads get their briefs from their assistants, the word context is a favorite.

Rant over :O

Nearly sure he was just on the radio, supporting the Green party to remain in goverment. Although acknowledged that communication over the last few days was poor.

Communication is poor - Thank god for that, a simple misunderstanding -

i though the IMF had arrived or something.

Gormley says don't panic.

Mental reservation at work however...

He insisted said he accepted the “official line given to us” last weekend that there were “discussions” taking place with the IMF but that “no negotiations” were taking place.

“That in fact is the case,” he said, speaking to reporters in Dublin.

So he's admitting that Dermot Ahern told bare-faced lies to the nation on RTE's 'Week in Politics' programme? Ahern said that talk of either 'discussions' or 'negotiations' taking place were 'pure fiction'.

So both Gormley and Ahern can't be believed.

given the sanctimonious tripe he usually spouts does it really matter that he's disappeared.

I imagine the Greens in general are keeping a low profile to avoid having to explain how:

a) they knew the IMF was coming in and played along with FF's lies, or
b) they didn't know the IMF was coming in.

Gormley should do the decent thing now and pull out of Government. What right have these guys to force a 4 year plan on us with no mandate. TIME TO Go GORMLEY

Remember, this is the man who told us that the banking enquiry would be private rather than secret!

Asked about Government denials of talks with the IMF, he said the distinction between discussions and negotiations 'was a Jesuitical one' that went over the heads of most people.
Mental reservation indeed.

a gormless ancestor:

Truly the best photo to describe the current administration.

When word was going around the international media last week that Ireland was negeotiating with the EU and IMF, what was Gormley up to? Getting to grips with the situation and providing leadership? No. He was preparing his Climate Change Bill to be brought to Cabinet last Tuesday.

I saw this on the Friends of Green Fascism website Friends of the Earth Ireland - Inspiring solutions for people and the planet » Welcome to the Friends of the Earth Ireland Website » Home Page
Minister Gormley tweeted the following message just after 12.30pm last Thursday:

""Heads of climate change bill to be agreed by cabinet on Tuesday"
I can imagine if this country ever had to go to war, the Greens would be worrying about the Carbon footprint of the planes and calculating the fall in CO2 emmissions resulting from the fall in population.

We won't have to worry about the Greens implementing their Climate Change Bill though.
The IMF and EU will insist on a plethora of new Carbon Taxes to pay for the bailout.
The Copenhagen Treaty was about paying the IMF and World Bank 1-2% of our GDP. Looks like they're going to get a lot more than 1-2% now.

Our servile population will lap it up. And FF, FG and Labour will say it's a good thing.

Where's Gormless Gone?

Since the big announcement a week ago that they were pulling out Gormley has gone missing?

He hasn't been out re IMF/EU deal, defending Green position etc

Just saw there that at the first meeting of the Dail after the most historic week in the history Ryan is sitting beside the Taoiseach and shook hands with Doherty as the "acting leader" of the Green Party

Where is he?

Not that I'm missing him ...just curious
