With the amount of people here yabbing nonsense about money, why have they not formed a co-op.

500 euros from a 1000 posters or readers and off ye go.

Pick any business venture. How about a cab. Everyone understands how they work. Keep it simple.

See what running a real business is before ye talk any more shythe.

It would be more experience than such nitwits as Eamon Gilmore has.

How about a corner store even.

All the socialists here should love the idea of this group effort.

Nobody should be allowed to vote without such an experience never mind the 2 idiots who wants to run the country

Is there anybody interested

Yes in theory, possibly in practice, all depending on the spirit of adventure and what can be achieved (Is it just going to be all about the money?) Does the quality of our lives improve with your plan?

We could get into the property game-that's where the big money is to be made. We start lending out money to buy up fields. Then we lend money to build houses on the fields. Then we lend the money to people to buy the houses in the fields. All the time the prices get pushed up. Our friends in the media can whip up a frenzy. It can't go wrong, I swear! All we need to do is borrow the money in the first place and off we go.

would be tremendous fun to find a suitable venue !

Yes indeed, If we can bring our good attributes to the table. It will be quite handy if oreo knows of some exotic location to set up shop(fingers crossed). sure we'll all be changed people when we leave our troubles behind :?
Mind you now we're a co-op everyone gets to put forward suggestions....

How about any of the following co-ops as an antidote to rip off Ireland ?
- Department Store
- Bank
- Insurance Company

Imagine... 1000 individuals + assistants, all pooling talent, know how, and labour. Somehow managing to synergise best efforts, as oreo has already indicated many P.ie contributors appear to be far more capable/worthy of running the show and I would trust some could provide a framework to prosperity. ahhh the wishful thinking:D

So to in answer to the OP title, "why not..." well because we are all very wary of losing out again, It seems difficult for two people to come to agreement even on mutually beneficial essential matters, sometimes, can you imagine 1000 P.ie posters debating the ethics and economics.... Then again, after 1000 suggestions have been collated and compiled, digested and voted upon, well well there is potential for great things to happen.

No I will not. I do not need an education in the hassle encountered. I have already graduated from that college. I think everyone could do with an understanding of just how difficult running even a basic small business is though.

You have politicians saying how they will create so many jobs etc etc. They are talking rag time. Guaranteed, if an election were to be called tomorrow you would have FG promise that they would create 200000 jobs and Labour would create 250000 jobs.

They would have the same inane plan for this miracle, ie broadband, and green jobs. Turn the clock back 60 years and it was draining the Shannon and harvesting the Bog of Allen. All total codology and still they spin it.

As to who could run it.
Well I mentioned cabs so maybe Turdsl is the man for the job. Respected by all here imo. 100000 would get him another vehicle and driver on the road. Now he would no doubt advise against this.

However for 100 euro it would be worth it to give dreamers like Cael an oppurtunity to become a greedy capitalist.

Oreo will be running the PR Department?
Believe it or not I was years in the hospitality business. I can be very personable when it suits me.

Also I have infinite patience. I would need it with all the mugs I come across.

I love talking politics with customers. I can love Obama in the morning and George Bush in the afternoon and everyone else in between

Surely you jest. It is nearly impossible to make money nowadays.

However the quality of your life would indeed improve. Just that feeling of togetherness would be worth a million quid.

Bringing posters who you may not have thought highly of before together with you and sharing a dream together

Would this be a unionist or loyalist or nationalist or republican co op ?

Not only them but every race known to exist would be welcome. Also gays, straights, transgenders and those yet trying to decide what they are. Just bring a nice fresh 100 euro bill for each share you wish to call your own
