Still b*llh*tting as usual.

Hayes is deputy Finance spokesman, you idiot. The others were the Finance team.

Those at the meeting from the parties were the Finance spokespersons and their team. Bruton is not on the Finance team.

Even you should know the difference. Enterprise spokespeople weren't at the meeting, just Finance spokespersons.
Is he not also spokesperson for Economic Planning (he is according to the wiki page). Economic planning is the responsibility for D/Finance, and so he should be on the FG Finance team if he really has that job for them.

Of course, it's possible that he doesn't really, and that Noonan has responsibility for it, but it was appended to his job description for the optics.

Either way, it's a fair question, Tommy. Either he isn't the FG front-bench spokesperson responsible for Economic Planning, in which case why is it in his title, or he is, in which case why wasn't he at the meeting today?

Do you ever drop the anti FG rant. Almost every post of yours is a slap at FG.
Amazingly you have no comment about the horrific mess created by Fianna Failure. The economy was NOT wrecked by FG.
He's a tribal FF'er who lets on not to be..i.e the worst kind.

Hence the constant hard-on for FG

Indeed - in fairness to Noonan - he showed himself to be pretty handy at the sums game and getting the best deal last June ;)
There's a slight difference in being able to count to 36 and being able to subtract 35 billion from 50 billion - remember they only had an abacus when Michael went to school:lol:

Really? Here's a snippet from Bruton's own website.

Richard Bruton TD |  About Me
"I am passionate about the need for reform- to renew politics, to reinvent the economy, to transform the public services, to create a new social contract"

How's he going to reinvent the economy from the sidelines?
According to the FG website - Richard Bruton TD, Spokesperson on Enterprise, Jobs & Economic Planning (including public service reform)

It's downright bizarre to send 3 nobodies to a hugely important briefing while leaving someone with that brief at home. The only plausible reason is the wounds haven't healed yet.

Get it into your thick skull your party FF has wrecked the economy. Do a little bit of canvassing and just watch the reaction at the doors.
Cowen and Lenihan (Ministers for Finance) represent the legal profession. Now look at the economic wasteland. So forget the nonsense about teachers.

My party eh?

FG official resigns in protest over Kenny's leadership - National News, Frontpage - Independent.ie

I dont need any childish lecturing about the damage FF have done to this country over the last 13 years.

Im far more concerned that the electorate dont see FG as a viable alternative with the leadership in place at the moment.

Maybe you should go canvassing some time outside Co Mayo and see what they are saying about FG - it might be an enlightening experience

Pity FF couldn't do the sums on the economy. We now have a semi bankrupt economy.
Pity Richard Bruton couldnt do the sums before he plunged into a leadership heave. Its over. If you dont like it join Labour.
While Kenny is leader I will remain loyal to him. I am sick of the badmouthing of him.

You should stop talking through your hat. I am not from Co. Mayo. If you are not happy with FG go away and join some other party (assuming that you are an FG supporter).

Because he is not on the Finance team.

Overall economics is handled by an Economics team that is made up of the Finance team and the Enterprise team. Finance is a specialist team that deals with Finance and budgeting. Only those in the parties dealing with Finance and budgeting were invited by the Government. None of the broader economics teams from the parties were invited.

That's the crazy part, we have a functioning multinational sector and a govt. that's broke, its almost like two separate countries at times:confused:

If you are in a sulk, that is your problem. Some of us are going to get this government out. If you want to put your sulking ahead of the national interest, so be it.

No I've just spent the last 6-7 years campaigning, canvassing, fundraising, donating a lot of my own money and time to FG for the craic.

Im not happy - I didn't do all of the above to watch it all being pissed away because some people in the party dont understand their limitations and are putting personal ambition above the party and country.

As regards going away - be careful what you wish for.

FG people really do need to move away from this childish notion that anyone who isn't 100% behind Kenny must be an FFer.
Some of us actually read your early posts when you admitted just what you are.

Economic planning is central to the Budgetary process (unless the term means something else in FG than it does practically everywhere else) and the Budgetary & Economic Division of D/Finance is the central one in framing the Budget, and would be in any 4-year plan, and these meetings are about both of these. By having Economic planning, part of his brief is that of the Minister for Finance, and it's the part most related to what these meetings are about today.

Are you suggesting that the Govt would have seen him as gate-crashing if FG brought him along? Because that would be a story all of itself. If FG are going to frame an alternative budget, the input of their spokesperson on Economic Planning should in fact be the biggest one. And yet they decided not to include him in today's delegation.

spin all you like - it reads, at best, very odd.

Don't forget to close the door on your way out.
That's real constructive. We are sleepwalking into a Labour led govt which is the last thing the country needs and you want to encourage people to drop out? daft.
