Did they know it was an error?
Would your number be on PULSE if you had not reported a crime or had some contact with them?
I rang the g station to report a routine matter and was quizzed for my dob. I won't be doing that again.

First off well done to all the guards who received bravery medals yesterday , a tilemy reminder there are a lot of good ones as well.

But one story has me a bit perplexed , both Garadi here in this case got bravery medals but one got a silver the other only a bronze.

The bit that has me confused is the Guard who actually challenged the guy with the gun and wrestled if off him and who was the guard who actually got shot at received the Bronze medal , while the guard who by accounts had the minor role in assisting the first Guard by hitting the perp with her baton while the other guard grappled with him received the silver medal.

Why did they both receive different grade of medals and why did the Guard who done the most only get the Bronze one?

Just heard there's an RTE programme tonight ( Primetime investigates ?) about the failure of Gardaí to deliver summonses for traffic offences. Apparently, in one case, failure to deliver one led to the addressee being involved in a fatal hit and run at a time he should have been off the road. Sorry, acting on hearsay can't find a link.

Here's one for ye all - given that the buckos who were recorded on camera laughing and skitting about potentially raping the woman whose camera they had confiscated at Rosport, were found to have no case to answer - if you saw a young woman paralytic drunk by herself trying to get home and you were in a rush going somewhere and you saw a squad car, which hadn't seen her turn in another direction, would you alert the Piggies to her plight? I certainly would not, out of concern for her safety!

Interesting piece in today's Examiner :

GRA led by self-protecting, exclusive

Years ago, some rank and file members asked me to have a look at how the GRA worked (or didn't). After a cursory examination, I came to the conclusion not far off what's here. It definitely has an "old boys club" whiff from it with quite a degree of arrogance as well. Their responses to some of the tribunals/enquiries were shocking.
I'd say they'll have no problem in accepting the findings of this report. The problem might be that they'll then ignore it.
