Would you sacrifice a few pregnant women's lives to ensure our abortions were conducted in England rather than Ireland?

A constant theme running through many people's attitudes towards abortion in "hard cases" is that they do not want to open the door to "abortion on demand"

Many who consider themselves pro- life fear that allowing any formula for limited abortion will provide a legal basis for wider scale operation of abortion in Ireland. They also know that facilitating abortion will lead to creep of attitudes to abortion leading to further liberalisation of the law.

In that context they are prepared to sacrifice some women who might be too ill to travel to the heathen England for an abortion.

Of course this is something they will not openly concede. They are happy to maintain the position that no appropriate medical treatment will be denied to any woman to save her life.

What if a pregnancy will not kill a woman during the pregnancy, but is likely to shorten her life none the less?
